FACTS: The name "California" is the first state name documented in the 1510 book entitled, Las Sergas de Esplandian where the legendary Queen was popularized by Garcí Rodríguez de Montalvo. The name California means in short: a Terrestrial Paradise, golden island of powerful, beautiful, courageous and brave* Black women Amazons, only, with gold weapons and griffins.  On September 9, 1850 California was admitted into the Union with a Confederate designed seal. Today still, California is misrepresented. Her Majesty Queen Calafia is the namesake of California; yet she nor said Amazons are officialized. California is defined by mujeres negras (Black women); yet they remain invisible. These ignored facts negatively affects the Black race and prevents all Americans from knowing the true history - Black royalty not slavery. Educate (buy book), celebrate (shop gear) and act (sign petitions) now at www.Caliisme.com to restore this social injustice with CALIFORNIA IS ME ™️.

Queen Calafía, ruler of California, is: 1) the real Wonder Woman, 2) an African/Black woman, and 3) the namesake of the State of California!  Making "California" an ancient gem as it is the oldest state name in the USA!  Follow us on social media.

This Black history is American history.  It is something to be proud about and to celebrate. Slay Queens and Kings! #BlackQueenMagic

First documented sentence with name “California” in Spanish

“Sabed que a la diestra mano de las Indias existe una isla llamada California muy cerca de un costado del Paraíso Terrenal; y estaba poblada por mujeres negras, sin que existiera allí un hombre, pues vivían a la manera de las amazonas. Eran de bellos y robustos cuerpos, fogoso valor y gran fuerza. Su isla era la más fuerte de todo el mundo, con sus escarpados farallones y sus pétreas costas….Source: See Book for more and media link for more.

*It was reported prior that the term “brave” above was translated to mean “hard-working” as ”effozcado” was lost and is obsolete Sevillian (Spanish); however, upon further research the Old Spanish word “effozcado” is now understood in modern terms as “esforzado” - which also means a variety of terms:

  1. enérgico, fuerte, emprendedor, valiente, y trabajador (English: “vigorous”, “strong”, “enterprising”, “brave”, and “hard-working”) according to one source (the Collins Dictionary) or

  2. according to another source (the Real Academia Espaήola Dictionary) it means “valiente, animoso, alentado, de gran corazón y espíritu.” (English: Brave, courageous, encouraged, with a big heart and spirit.) .

In today’s meaning, applying the 16th Century Sevillian term in context, a combined term of all the glorious adjectives is fitting for such passionately powerful Black women warriors of “California”. CALIFORNIA IS ME!
